Refreshing alcoholic blender drinks are right for any season. While tradiitonalists might scoff at fruity blended drinks, for many of us, it’s just what the bartender ordered. Here are a few delicious concoctions made easier with your Living Well Health Master. And don’t think that just because these drinks have alcohol in them, they can’t have a healthy aspect, as well, particularly if you’re using fresh fruits.

Pina Colada

This good and popular rum based cocktail makes me think of tropical skies and warm beaches. Blend 3/4 cup rum, 3/4 cup coconut milk, 1 1/2 cups of pineapple juice, 1 to 2 tablespoons of sugar along with a cup of crushed ice. Give this mixture a quick buzz, just until creamy. Serve with a wedge of fresh pineapple.

Serves 4.

Frozen Daquiri

You know that your Health Master is the perfect applicance for making frozen drinks. The daquiri is essentially a cocktail composed of rum, lime juice and sweeteners such as sugar.

Blend 3/4 cup rum, 1/4 cup lime juice, 1 to 2 tablespoons of sugar or honey, and a cup of ice. Give the mixer a quick run to blend the ingredients. Pour into glasses and garnish with a lime slice.

Frozen Margarita

Frozen margaritas are tequila-based cocktails that can include any number of fresh fruits for more exotic flavorings.

Mix 1/4 cup lime juice, freshly squeezed, with 3/4 cup tequila, 1/4 cup of orange liqueur and 2 to 3 tablespoons of sugar, depending on how sweet you want your cocktail drink to be, and 1 1/2 cup of crushed ice.

Rub a wedge of lime around the rim of the serving glass and dip into a dish of kosher salt before pouring in the cocktail. Granulated sugar can be used instead of salt, if you prefer.

Frozen Espresso Milkshake

For a more unique alcoholic blender drink, you can try creating a frozen espresso milkshake.

Mix 3/4 cup of espresso, 1 cup milk, 2 scoops vanilla ice cream, 1/2 cup vodka, and 1/2 cup Kahlua. Add in a scoop or two of vanilla ice cream and 1 1/2 cups of crushed ice. Blend briefly until thick and creamy. For a mocha drink, add a drizzle of chocolate syrup before blending.

These are just a few of the delicious cocktail recipes you can prepare. Just use a little imagination, good ingredients, and your favorite liquor.
