Grocery shopping is something we all have to do, even though choosing the right foods can be very hard indeed.  To assist you with your healthy grocery shopping, the tips below can indeed help make things easier than ever before:

1. Never go grocery shopping on an empty stomach.

2. Select canned fruits and tuna that are packed in water, not oil or syrup.

3. Look at the labels for the words “hydrogenated” or “partially hydrogenated”.  The earlier you see them appear on the list, the higher the amount of unhealthy trans fatty acids the food will contain.

4. Don’t buy turkey with the skin on it, and if  you plan to buy chicken – buy a chicken breast meal.

5. When you select frozen dinners, select those that are not only low in fat, but low in sodium and cholesterol as well.

6. If you aren’t consuming enough dairy products, go with calcium fortified orange juice instead.

7. Go for whole grain breads, cereals, and rolls.

8. Give cantaloupe a try.  With just 95 calories, half of the melon will provide more than a day’s supply of Vitamin C and beta carotene.

9. Don’t be tricked into buying yogurt covered by nuts or raisins, as the coating is normally made of sugar and partially hydrogenated oils.

10. Get some of the low fat treats, such as pretzels, ginger snaps, and angel food cake.

By following the above tips when grocery shopping, you’ll avoid the bad foods and get those that you need.  There are many different healthy foods at the grocery store, all it takes is the will power to go past the bad foods and on to the good ones.

Healthy Eating To fight Stress

Whenever we get too busy or stressed, we all tend to make poor food choices that will actually increase stress and cause other problems. To get the most of your healthy eating and avoid stress, follow these simple tips.

Always Eat Breakfast

Even though you may think you aren’t hungry, you need to eat something. Skipping breakfast makes it harder to maintain the proper blood and sugar levels during the day, so you should always eat something.

Carry a Snack

Keeping some protein rich snacks in your car, office, or pocket book will help you avoid blood sugar level dips, the accompanying mood swings, and the fatigue. Trail mix, granola bars, and energy bars all have the nutrients you need.

Healthy Munchies

If you like to munch when you’re stressed out, you can replace chips or other non healthy foods with carrot sticks, celery sticks, or even sunflower seeds.

Take Your Lunch

Although a lot of people prefer to eat fast food for lunch, you can save a lot of money and actually eat healthier if you take a few minutes and pack a lunch at home. Even if you only do this a few times a week, you’ll see a much better improvement over eating out.

Stock Your Home

As important as it is to get the bad food out of your house, it’s even more important to get the good food in! The best way to do this is to plan a menu of healthy meals at snacks at the beginning of the week, list the ingredients you need, then go shop for it. This way, you’ll know what you want when you need it and you won’t have to stress over what to eat.

Becoming A Healthy Eater

Being a healthy eater requires you to become both educated and smart about what healthy
eating actually is. Being food smart isn’t about learning to calculate grams or fat, or is it about studying labels and counting calories.

Healthy eating is all about balanced and moderateeating, consisting of healthy meals at least three times per day. Healthy eaters eat many different types of foods, not limiting themselves to one specific food type or food group.

Eating healthy requires quite a bit of leeway. You might eat too much or not enough, consume foods that are sometimes more or less nutritious. However, you should always fuel your body and your brain regularly with enough food to keep both your mind and body strong and alert.

A healthy eater is a good problem solver. Healthy eaters have learned to take care of themselves and their eating with sound judgement and making wise decisions. Healthy eaters are always aware of what they eat, and know the effect that it will have on their bodies.

When someone is unable to take control of their eating, they are also likely to get out of control with other aspects of life as well. They could end up spending too much, talking too much, even going to bed later and later.

You should always remember that restricting food in any way is always a bad thing. Healthy eating is a way of life, something that you can do to enhance your body or your lifestyle. If you’ve thought about making your life better, healthy eating is just the place to start. You’ll make life easier for yourself, those around you, and even your family.

Refreshing alcoholic blender drinks are right for any season. While tradiitonalists might scoff at fruity blended drinks, for many of us, it’s just what the bartender ordered. Here are a few delicious concoctions made easier with your Living Well Health Master. And don’t think that just because these drinks have alcohol in them, they can’t have a healthy aspect, as well, particularly if you’re using fresh fruits.

Pina Colada

This good and popular rum based cocktail makes me think of tropical skies and warm beaches. Blend 3/4 cup rum, 3/4 cup coconut milk, 1 1/2 cups of pineapple juice, 1 to 2 tablespoons of sugar along with a cup of crushed ice. Give this mixture a quick buzz, just until creamy. Serve with a wedge of fresh pineapple.

Serves 4.

Frozen Daquiri

You know that your Health Master is the perfect applicance for making frozen drinks. The daquiri is essentially a cocktail composed of rum, lime juice and sweeteners such as sugar.

Blend 3/4 cup rum, 1/4 cup lime juice, 1 to 2 tablespoons of sugar or honey, and a cup of ice. Give the mixer a quick run to blend the ingredients. Pour into glasses and garnish with a lime slice.

Frozen Margarita

Frozen margaritas are tequila-based cocktails that can include any number of fresh fruits for more exotic flavorings.

Mix 1/4 cup lime juice, freshly squeezed, with 3/4 cup tequila, 1/4 cup of orange liqueur and 2 to 3 tablespoons of sugar, depending on how sweet you want your cocktail drink to be, and 1 1/2 cup of crushed ice.

Rub a wedge of lime around the rim of the serving glass and dip into a dish of kosher salt before pouring in the cocktail. Granulated sugar can be used instead of salt, if you prefer.

Frozen Espresso Milkshake

For a more unique alcoholic blender drink, you can try creating a frozen espresso milkshake.

Mix 3/4 cup of espresso, 1 cup milk, 2 scoops vanilla ice cream, 1/2 cup vodka, and 1/2 cup Kahlua. Add in a scoop or two of vanilla ice cream and 1 1/2 cups of crushed ice. Blend briefly until thick and creamy. For a mocha drink, add a drizzle of chocolate syrup before blending.

These are just a few of the delicious cocktail recipes you can prepare. Just use a little imagination, good ingredients, and your favorite liquor.

Creating cooling and refreshing drinks is always welcome, and not just in the summer. Here are some recipes that you might want to consider.

Because this appliance is so much more than a blender and has so much more power, you need do very little preparation; peel the ingredient if necessary (i.e., bananas, av0cados), keeping in mind that the peel is very healthy and won’t be obtrusive with the power of this machine, wash your ingredient well, and pit it, if necessary.

Breakfast shakes are ideal for those rushed mornings.

Put into the blender: one 8-ounce can of sliced peaches in heavy syrup, 1/2 cup plain low-fat yogurt, and a single 1 1/2 ounce packet of instant oatmeal as well as 4 to 5 ice cubes.

Coffee Cappuccino

If you are looking into a new summer twist to your favorite cup of coffee or tea, here is a recipe that you might want to try out. This is the mix for your instant powder.

A Versatile Appliance – The Living Well Health Master

Fresh fruit juices power!!!

Smoothies, anyone? This is just one kind of the many drinks that you can prepare with your Living Well Health Master. Just take a peek into your refrigerator, freezer, and cupboards or pantry, and you’ll find lots of ingredients that, with just a little imagination, will make delicious and healthy smoothies.

More than a Blender

Of course, there is more to this appliance than just being a blender that will help you create smoothies and fruit juices. Here are some other ideas on how can you utilize your Health Master.

1. If you like to cook but don’t do it often because you just don’t have the time to chop the ingredients that you need, you’ll be able to eliminate a lot of the time using this machine.

2. Make your own baby food. You’ll be assured that your baby is getting only the best, purest, cleanest ingredients.

3. You can entertain at your home easily with the kind of mixes, spreads and the like that your family and friends will surely love. Salsas, dips, pates, and other appetizers and snacks become easy and quick. All it takes is a very little preparation and a lot of imagination. You’ll be the hostess people don’t turn down.

4. This appliance will also help in your baking. Mixing your ingredients is a dream – even easier than using a stand mixer. It also chops nuts, chops chocolate, and even will grind specialty flour mixes.

5. Sauces are easy, especially with the heat capability. Spend a little time experimenting with the basic sauce recipes, then use your imagination for additions of herbs and flavorings. A little practice will help greatly.

Don’t Forget about the Smoothies

The first blender was invented in 1922 as a way to help to create soda fountain drinks. This was done by Stephen Poplawski, who put a blade at the bottom of a tall container. Over the years since, there have been hundreds of innovations, bringing us to the Living Well Health Master that is available today.

There are ready made mixes for smoothies that can be purchased at your local supermarket. All you have to do once you reach home is to use your blender and add your favorite flavors to create something for your own delight. You can also develop your own flavors to serve whenever there is a special occasion happening at your home.

It doesn’t matter if the weather is hot or cold. Smoothies and other fruit juices that can be created with the help of your trusted blender will always be appreciated. And smoothies are an excellent way to sneak fruits and vegetables into your family’s diet, fruits and vegetables they would otherwise shun.

There are lots of combinations you can make, again with some experimentation. Don’t be afraid to throw in ingredients solely for the health of it.
